The 'humans' in the defense industry are tactical professional users in the filed, wearing gloves, operating in challenging conditions (dust, extreme darkness or sunlight etc.), and under the stress of battle.
Disruptive Research
My research was inspired by cinematic interfaces, PC & Console games, air force aviation and automotive dashboard interfaces. I studied tactical color practices, augmented reality and projection of telemetry on the filed-of-view for drivers and pilots.
...after all, I was about to design an Iron Man experience for real-life operators...
Design Work
The team at Xtend.me repurposed a floor in their company's building to be a training zone for POC's and final products which made our R&D work much more exciting.
Working with the CPO's team, we were able to create and test several generations of the HUD interface and ops field tablet functionalities, constantly fine-tuning and simplifying the pilot experience based on user feedback and boosting the embedded AI autonomous capabilities.
This gallery captures some of these steps towards the final product which is presently used by security forces across the world, saving lives daily and providing agility and precision for women and men of service, around the world.

Mission
Design next-generation tablet UI & UX for drone mission field operators, adjusting the GUI to filed requirements and ease of engineering implementation.
Add an advanced telemetry augmentation over the pilot's filed-of-view, allowing for enhanced drone control experience and functionality.
